Bheri Environmental Excellence Group (BEE Group) is a non-governmental organization established in 2000, focused on human rights promotion, environment and biodiversity conservation, and community development. Since its establishment, BEE Group has been working in strengthening the health system, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, education, water, sanitation, hygiene, and sustainable livelihoods across Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces in Nepal.

As part of organizational strengthening efforts of Oxfam, BEE-Group is participating in Oxfam’s Partners’ Investment Fund (PIF) initiative, which aims to enhance institutional capacity through developing policies, systems, and frameworks for effective governance, management, and continuous learning.

In alignment with this, a training on “Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion and conducting an Institutionalization and Organizational GEDSI Audit” has been planned for the organizations. The training and audit emphasize integrating Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles into organizational structures, culture, and operations, ensuring equity, accessibility, and inclusivity. It focuses on dismantling barriers to participation for marginalized groups and promoting a rights-based approach in governance, decision-making, and programming at the organization and program levels.

 

Objective of the GEDSI Conceptual Training and GEDSI Audit 

This training is designed to enhance the capacity of the executive committee and staff of BEE Group to make a clear understanding of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI)principles within the organization and integration into the structures, policies, and programs. The aim is to empower and create inclusive environments, streamline organizational processes, and ensure that marginalized communities are consistently considered in all aspects of the organization’s work. 

 

The objectives of the training include:

  • Creating conceptual clarity among the executive committee and staff regarding the principles of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), including a comprehensive understanding of the core GEDSI principles and procedures to ensure the development of a robust GEDSI mechanism within the organization and program.
  • Improve skills and knowledge in creating inclusive policies and action plans that encourage regular reflection, sharing, and learning on GEDSI-related issues and topics.
  • Understand the core concepts and procedures for conducting a GEDSI audit within the organization and its programs.
  • Conduct a comprehensive GEDSI Audit of the organization to understand the existing status and areas of improvement in the organizational and programmatic levels.
  • Prepare GEDSI Action plan and implementation strategies based on audit findings. 

Scope of consultancy 

The service provider will facilitate a standard 3-day GEDSI training and assist in executing the participatory GEDSI audit for the BEE Group, following the complete process as required by the BEE Group.  The specific scope of the assignment is listed below;

  • Prepare the content and develop the training materials, considering the adult learning approaches for GEDSI conceptual sessions. Prepare the necessary presentation and reading materials for the participants (e-copies).
  • Prepare a checklist/indicator for the GEDSI audit and share it with the BEE-Group before the audit process.
  • Review and understand the GEDSI in organizational systems (policies and practices) in consultation with the BEE Group as per the checklist.    
  • Facilitate the 3-day training/workshop on GEDSI and audit using the appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Meeting with Executive Committee, staff, and stakeholders as needed.
  • Make the clarify the concept of GEDSI mainstream to the project cycle, ensuring it is integrated into the project cycle management and MEAL framework along with practical tools.
  • Prepare GEDSI audit report with action plan for the BEE Group, incorporating input from the BEE Group. Guide the BEE Group to implement the prepared action plan through the GEDSI Audit. 

Individuals or firms interested in this opportunity and who meet the specified requirements are invited to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI). This submission should include a technical proposal (no more than 5 pages), a financial proposal detailing the consultancy fee per day, and an updated CV for the lead facilitator and team members. The deadline for applications is August 20, 2025. The selected applicant will be invited to participate in the final discussions and to sign the contract.
